When questioned about reports concerning Singham’s network and its links to far-left activism, Piker stated that there is an “environment of suspicion” surrounding Singham’s activities. He described this atmosphere as taking on a “sinister shape,” but asserted that the operations are “totally above board and totally legal.”
In recent months, numerous activists associated with the Singham network have been instrumental in fueling, coordinating, and organizing protests against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). These demonstrations have taken place in cities such as Minneapolis, New York City, Los Angeles, and across New Jersey.

Piker has utilized his platforms to interview, promote, and campaign alongside candidates endorsed by the Democratic Socialists of America. This has helped introduce them to younger voters who consume political content online. His extensive audience reach has established him as a considerable force in Democratic politics, empowering him to shape narratives and generate grassroots enthusiasm for candidates running on socialist and anti-establishment platforms.
As previously reported, Singham is an American Marxist tech tycoon who has channeled $285 million since 2017 into a network of nonprofits. These organizations have been involved in organizing and coordinating divisive anti-American street protests, including the one observed in New Jersey.

These comments emerge as federal investigators have intensified their scrutiny of activists involved in travel to communist Cuba. Piker’s remarks follow disclosures by Medea Benjamin, co-founder of CodePink, who stated that Jodie Evans had received the investigative query via an email that had initially been directed to her spam folder.
The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control reportedly sent investigative letters requesting financial, logistical, and communications documents concerning a convoy in March. The Office of Foreign Assets Control is responsible for administering and enforcing U.S. sanctions programs, which include restrictions on financial transactions and certain travel-related activities involving Cuba.

Piker framed the investigation as part of a larger effort by the Trump administration to target political activists and protesters. He argued that the scrutiny of Cuba travel contradicted Trump’s campaign promises to defend free speech.
“I feel like there are a lot of people who believed in that message, and now he’s betrayed that message,” Piker stated.
Piker, who was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, was visiting his home state from his residence in West Hollywood, California. He was participating in a rally in Trenton for Adam Hamamy, a controversial candidate endorsed by the Democratic Socialists of America for his U.S. Congress race.
The New York Times published a profile on the candidate on Saturday, highlighting his “ties to a militant cleric.” Piker publicly defended Hamamy.
In a livestream on Twitch last week, which lasted approximately six hours, Piker addressed concerns about his connections to organizations involved in the Cuba convoy. He acknowledged that Singham finances a network of left-wing nonprofits engaged in “political advocacy” and “a lot of political movements.”
Critics have contended that this network operates as a coordinated activist infrastructure that promotes pro-communist agendas. These agendas include supporting Cuba, China, and other authoritarian governments that oppose U.S. foreign policy.
Piker has been a polarizing figure in various communities, including among leftists and Democrats.
As Piker departed, an activist shouted, “Get out of here,” adding, “Dog abuser.” This comment referred to allegations that Piker had trained his dog, Kaya, using a shock collar.
Piker has denied these allegations.
