SouthernWorldwide.com – Marxist political influencer Hasan Piker has recently faced a series of setbacks, including protests and travel restrictions.
During a protest outside an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Newark, New Jersey, Piker was confronted by hecklers. He was called names such as “f—ing fraud,” “fake-a– grifter,” and “dog abuser.” He was also told to “Go back to the desktop,” a reference to his online presence. Piker has previously denied allegations that he used a shock collar on his dog, Kaya.
Adding to his recent troubles, Piker informed his followers on the gaming platform Twitch that British authorities had denied his Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). This denial prevents him from traveling to the United Kingdom for several scheduled appearances, including events at SXSW London and the Oxford Union. For approved U.S. travelers, an ETA is typically a straightforward process for entering the UK, simpler than obtaining a full visa.
“I’ve been banned from the UK,” Piker stated to his viewers. He expressed frustration, noting that he had visited the UK multiple times before, and the current complaints were regarding statements he had made previously. He described the situation as “f—ing ridiculous.”

In a lengthy livestream, Piker revealed that his entry denial was reportedly due to allegations of antisemitism, which he vehemently denied. He then directed his criticism towards Jewish organizations that he claimed had campaigned against his visit, asserting they held significant sway over British policy.
“Israel advocacy organizations have unbelievable amounts of power over what even the United Kingdom has to say and do,” Piker contended. “If you’re an avowed anti-Zionist, your travel will be restricted.”
Piker accused the UK government of succumbing to pressure from pro-Israel advocacy groups. He characterized the decision as indicative of a broader trend of suppressing political dissent in Western democracies.

These remarks followed weeks of public calls from several British Jewish organizations urging the government to prevent Piker’s entry. They cited statements they deemed antisemitic and supportive of extremist groups. Piker had previously suggested that the U.S. deserved the 9/11 attacks as a “backlash” to its foreign policy. The Jewish Leadership Council and Community Security Trust had argued that Piker’s presence in Britain would be detrimental to the public good, citing his comments on Hamas, Hezbollah, Zionism, and Orthodox Jews.
Labour MP David Taylor had also urged the Home Office to revoke Piker’s visa before his scheduled appearances at SXSW London, stating that Piker’s rhetoric had heightened concerns within Britain’s Jewish community.
Throughout his commentary on the UK’s decision, Piker expressed his frustration with deep sighs, curses, and anger at suggestions from his followers. He consistently rejected accusations of antisemitism, arguing that criticism of Israel was being wrongly equated with hatred of Jewish people. He believes the decision reflects a larger pattern of governments suppressing anti-Israel viewpoints.
“This is straight-up fascism,” Piker declared. “Being critical of Israel while combating antisemitism is not a good enough reason to bar someone entry into the country.”

The streamer had intended a week-long visit that included speaking engagements alongside former Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis, a live podcast recording, and an event at the Oxford Union.
During the livestream, Piker cautioned that this alleged UK decision could establish a precedent for other Western nations, potentially impacting his future travel to countries like Australia and Canada.

“I genuinely did not think this would happen,” he admitted. “We’re moving into a very different timeline.”
Piker indicated that he and his team were investigating the possibility of applying for a standard visa, despite the denial of his ETA, though he acknowledged the low probability of success.
Piker’s situation is connected to a broader examination of transnational activist networks operating within the United States. In a recent livestream, Piker suggested that the Treasury Department’s investigation into his trip to Cuba might ultimately be focused on Neville Roy Singham. Singham is an American Marxist businessman based in Shanghai who has funded a network of nonprofit organizations and activist groups that have attracted scrutiny from lawmakers and administration officials.
Among the organizations funded by Singham is CodePink, which also received an administrative subpoena from the Treasury Department concerning its participation in the March convoy to Cuba. Other funded groups include the Party for Socialism and Liberation and the ANSWER Coalition. These organizations openly align with socialist or communist political ideologies and have been prominent organizers of anti-Israel demonstrations in the U.S. since the Hamas attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023.
Critics contend that some of these demonstrations have created hostile environments for Jewish people in the UK, U.S., and elsewhere. This includes the use of slogans like “From the river to the sea,” which is interpreted as a call for the elimination of Israel.
Officials from the Trump administration have been investigating the groups linked to Singham as a transnational network promoting anti-American, pro-Chinese Communist Party, and anti-Western narratives while exploiting political and social divisions within the U.S.
Lawmakers, Treasury officials, and national security analysts are increasingly examining whether such networks contribute to heightened polarization, social discord, and animosity towards democratic institutions. Meanwhile, Piker defended these groups at the ICE protest the previous night, describing their leaders as “wonderful” people.
The controversy has been particularly pronounced in Europe, where governments have faced challenges with alliances between far-left activists and Islamist organizations that have coalesced around anti-Israel activism and antisemitism. Critics argue that some of these collaborations have fueled rhetoric and actions hostile to Jewish people, contributing to a rise in antisemitism in the UK, similar to the U.S.
Piker concluded his podcast defiant, angry, and seemingly deflated for the moment. He reiterated, “Bro, they banned me from the UK,” before signing off for the day, stating, “I’m done for the day.”
