Spencer Pratt Slams ‘Karen Basura’ and Offers a Unique LA Approach to ICE as Mayor

SouthernWorldwide.com – Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt has voiced his opposition to federal immigration enforcement operations within the city. However, he contends that the ongoing controversy surrounding this issue is primarily fueled by his main political rival.

Since last year, the city of Los Angeles has been a focal point for federal immigration enforcement. This intensified scrutiny followed ICE raids that triggered significant counterdemonstrations. The broader focus on Los Angeles and California stems from the state’s general reluctance to cooperate with federal immigration officials and honor detainer requests for undocumented immigrants already in custody.

Meanwhile, Spencer Pratt has emerged as a notable political figure, launching his mayoral campaign. A significant part of his platform is based on his personal experiences and the perceived neglect, or worse, by the current Bass administration in Pacific Palisades.

“I don’t want ICE in LA, nobody wants ICE in L.A. — except Karen ‘Basura’ apparently,” Pratt stated in a recent social media post. He used the Spanish term for “garbage” when referring to Mayor Karen Bass.

Pratt elaborated on his stance, suggesting that the effective way to keep ICE out of Los Angeles is through the enforcement of existing laws, rather than defying them.

He drew a contrast between Mayor Bass’s approach and that of San Francisco. Pratt highlighted how President Donald Trump recently appeared to reach a détente on immigration enforcement with Daniel Lurie, the Democratic Mayor of San Francisco.

“Look at what Mayor Lurie did in San Francisco. He’s clearly no friend of the Trump administration, but he called the president and made a deal,” Pratt explained. “He vowed to have SFPD crack down on crime, and the president vowed to keep ICE out of the city.”

Pratt pointed to the outcome of Lurie’s negotiations as a model: “Notice what you don’t see — no riots. No crazy videos of ICE agents having chaotic arrests. That’s how it’s done.”

Reports indicated that in October, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) converged on a U.S. Coast Guard installation in the Bay Area. Following this event, Mayor Lurie reportedly worked to de-escalate tensions and connected with the White House, according to former President Trump.

At the time, Trump issued a statement saying he had spoken with Lurie and would give San Francisco an opportunity to “turn it around.” Notably, his statement did not include any disparaging remarks about Lurie or Democrats.

Further reports suggested that allies in the Big Tech sector, who are also supporters of Trump, informed him about the progress being made in combating crime within San Francisco. This information reportedly played a role in convincing the president to allow the situation to continue without further federal intervention.

In his message, Pratt cited San Francisco and other liberal-led cities, such as Memphis, as examples that he believes do not experience the same level of “chaos” that he observes in Los Angeles.

“It’s not a Democrat or Republican thing…,” Pratt stated. “So what’s the common denominator? It’s activist mayors using their city, their residents, their businesses as fodder for their political grandstanding, and people suffer as a result.”

Referring to Mayor Bass again as “Karen Basura,” Pratt asserted that her actions are effectively “guaranteeing” future ICE raids in Los Angeles.

“Adults put their egos aside,” he urged. “That’s exactly how I will end the ICE raids in L.A. Our city is not a political playhouse; it’s our home.”
