Trump Threatens Boebert Endorsement Over Massie Support

SouthernWorldwide.com – Former President Donald Trump has issued a strong rebuke against Representative Lauren Boebert, a Republican from Colorado and a long-standing ally, threatening to withdraw his endorsement and support a primary challenger against her.

The public criticism, delivered via Trump’s Truth Social platform, came shortly after Boebert appeared at a campaign event with Representative Thomas Massie, a Republican from Kentucky. Massie is known as one of Trump’s most vocal critics within the Republican party.

“Is anyone interested in running against Weak Minded Lauren Boebert in Colorado’s Fourth Congressional District?” Trump posted, questioning her mental fortitude.

Trump’s ire was specifically directed at Boebert’s decision to support Massie. The challenger to Massie in the Republican primary is retired Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein, who has already secured Trump’s endorsement.

Trump further elaborated on his feelings about Massie, referring to him as the “Worst ‘Republican’ Congressman” in American history. He stated that anyone “who can be that dumb deserves a good Primary fight!”

The former president declared that while he had previously endorsed Boebert, he would be willing to withdraw that endorsement and back a “good and proper alternative” if the right candidate emerged to challenge her.

“Just let me know, or announce your Candidacy, and I will be there for you!” Trump added, inviting potential challengers to step forward.

In response to Trump’s public statement, Boebert expressed that she was not “mad or offended.” She acknowledged that she understood the risks involved when she agreed to support her friend, Representative Massie.

“I was, and will be, America First, America Always, and MAGA,” Boebert stated, reaffirming her commitment to her political principles.

One observer, likely referring to Trump’s confrontational approach, commented that “he should be mending fences with these folks, not trying to burn bridges.”

Trump has made it a personal mission to unseat Massie. Massie has been a proponent for the release of government documents pertaining to the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Additionally, Massie has frequently voiced criticisms of Trump’s foreign policy decisions.

In a separate Truth Social post on Saturday, Trump reiterated his characterization of Massie as a “disloyal” Republican. He reaffirmed his support for Massie’s primary challenger, Ed Gallrein.

“His name is Thomas Massie, and he is a disloyal, ungracious, and sanctimonious FOOL, who almost never votes for even the best of Republican Values,” Trump wrote.

Trump went on to praise Gallrein, describing him as “a true American Patriot.” He urged his supporters to rally behind Gallrein in the upcoming Republican primary election.

The primary election in Kentucky, where Thomas Massie is seeking re-election, is scheduled to take place on May 19.
