SouthernWorldwide.com – Professional wrestling star Sami Zayn recently shared an update on his longtime friend and tag team partner, Kevin Owens, who has been sidelined for several months due to a serious neck injury.

The last time fans witnessed Owens in the wrestling ring was a few weeks prior to WrestleMania 41. It was during this time that he announced he would require neck surgery, a procedure that would necessitate a lengthy recovery period and keep him out of action for an extended duration.

Since his surgery, Owens has made infrequent appearances. He has been involved in “WWE LFG” as a coach and made a recent appearance on the pre-show for NXT The Great American Bash.

“I don’t want to speak out of school sharing his medical stuff,” Zayn stated. “The procedure that he had just takes time. He’s going to do his due diligence – do rehab exercises and all that. But it really is a matter of time when you’re talking about fusions and those kinds of procedures, you just need time to get to where it needs to be.”

Zayn emphasized the significant positive impact Owens’ return would have on WWE’s flagship shows, “Monday Night Raw” and “Friday Night SmackDown,” highlighting a substantial boost in the overall quality of programming.

“I’m hoping more than anybody, I would think, that he comes back soon. I think the fans have really been … I get asked about him a lot. So, it’s clear how beloved he is and how missed he is,” he said.

“It goes without saying he’s an extremely valuable talent. He’s a one-of-one talent that leaves a gaping hole when you don’t have him on your roster.

And I just think how better our show would be with him on it whether it’s SmackDown or Raw because of what he brings to the table. So, I think when he comes (back) I think it’s really gonna add just so much depth and dimension and excitement and quality programming to whatever show he lands on. It goes without saying.”

Zayn and Owens have been prominent figures in WWE since their respective arrivals in the company. Their on-screen chemistry and in-ring prowess have made them a formidable duo.

The pair have achieved success as a tag team, holding the tag team championships on two occasions. Notably, they defeated The Usos to capture the titles at WrestleMania 39, a memorable moment for both wrestlers and the WWE Universe.
